I had a notebook once
I’d jot down when I was available
I’d make appointments
I had a busy life
Darting in and out of places
And keeping track .
Everything neatly accounted for
I’d even consult my notebook
When to see friends
I don’t have a notebook anymore
I seem to remember well still
Closing in on sixty
I’m lucky to be able to remember
And I live as though every day is my last
Grabbing all the love I can get
And cherishing every kind remark
Making up for the foolishness of the past
When I couldn’t remember anything
Without my notebook

Hi Pia, I could relate to this piece, being nearly 60 myself. I have loads of diaries from when I was young, but again like you, don't bother keeping one anymore. Still, it's good to look back, don't you think? Jenny.
