Nodar will win no medals,
His dreams, like him, are gone...
In Whistler all was lost.

Like Kasimierz he left the gate,
Like Nicholas he'd crash...
In Whistler all was lost.

Just as Ross before him,
He will not race again...
In Whistler all was lost.

He lived to slide,
To race, to glide...
In Whistler all was lost.

Fantastic poem, I feel the loss! Although, could you please explain, who is Whistler?

Hi Kahdai. Thanks for your comments, glad it worked for you. Whistler is a place in Vancouver and its where the Olympic luge, skeleton and bobsleigh events are taking place. Sadly Nodar Kumaritashvili was killed in practice the day before the opening ceremony. Kheldar

Thanks for explaining that kheldar, I could tell it was about the loss of life (& not of sport-victory). It's sad, because someone dies trying to do what they love most, or to die trying atall. Kahdai x
