Nodar will win no medals,
His dreams, like him, are gone...
In Whistler all was lost.
Like Kasimierz he left the gate,
Like Nicholas he'd crash...
In Whistler all was lost.
Just as Ross before him,
He will not race again...
In Whistler all was lost.
He lived to slide,
To race, to glide...
In Whistler all was lost.
Notes:
•Nodar Kumaritashvili, 21, Georgia – Luge – 2010 Vancouver
•Nicholas Bochatay, 27, Switzerland – Speed Skiing(Demonstration)– 1992 Albertville
•Kazimierz Kay-Skrzypecki, Britian – Luge – 1964 Innsbruck
•Ross Milne, 19, Australia – Downhill Skiing – 1964 Innsbruck

Indeed it is all the things you ask, David but above all it is a beautiful poem and a more than worthy tribute.
And, last but by no means least, a splendid post for this week's IP;-)

Thanks for explaining that
Thanks for explaining that kheldar, I could tell it was about the loss of life (& not of sport-victory).
It's sad, because someone dies trying to do what they love most, or to die trying atall. Kahdai x
