Waiting for Orion

Better black skeletons on a dull silver board,
than bubbling green froth beneath
the bleached blue reservoir.
More comforting the smell
of wet leaves rotting,
back to blackened earth,
than the frilly scents of jasmine,
and of lavender.
While ice bone fingers,
harsh against the skin,
give greater solace
than summer's cloying warmth.
Magical the steamy words
drawn from parted lips,
swallowed by the moonless night,
their secrets kept,
as all the jewels in heaven
shine brighter still,
and the hunter slowly rises.

I love this time of year, too
I love this time of year, too... and it certainly seems to have come on quickly!
Stark, seasonal images and sensory appeal in this.

are you sure?
Are you sure you see Orion in the winter? Because we see it best in summer?

You are quite right but we see Orion in our summer, and you should see it in your summer, our winter.
Let's leave it. South Africa good guess!
I may be making a mistake & Nolan
