With apologies to T.S. Eliot and all those other cats out there.....

The Academy’s a new idea the Tory boys adore –
When money’s short Academy will always get some more!
The Government just thought of it to make them seem to care,
When all the other schools are shut the Academy’s still there!

Academy, Academy, there’s nothing like Academy,
I think it’s just a gimmick – do you think that’s very bad-of-me?
Michael Gove’s quite desperate with his startled bug-eyed stare –
But when the backers all pull out, will Academy still be there?
You may seek it in the schoolyard, you may look everywhere –
But pretty soon I think you’ll find – Academy’s not there!

Academy’s a fine idea, presented with a grin –
But look a little closer and you’ll see the plan’s quite thin –
Dave’s shiny face is red and fraught on head so highly domed
With Boris close upon his tail, his caveman hair uncombed –
He darts his eyes from side to side, just like a cornered snake
He’s in a stew- what can he do? What cheap reforms to make?

Academy, Academy, his solution is Academy.
I think it’s rather dubious, but maybe this is mad-of-me?
If the sponsor should go broke, the PM should beware –
The kids could go to school one day – and Academy’s not there!

Outwardly it looks quite great – but to prove it will be hard.
No evidence of what goes on in Academy’s schoolyard!
What happens when the backer’s gone, and the cash has all been rifled-
They’ll just blame global warming, and the evidence will be stifled!
Will the government resign when education’s beyond repair?
But there’s one thing I know for sure – Academy won’t be there!

Academy, Academy, there’s nothing like Academy,
I just can’t trust this system – I know, this is so sad-of-me -
And they’ll always have a good excuse, and one or two to spare –
But whoever’s fault, in the long run, ACADEMY WON’T BE THERE!
