Bryce Canyon (I.P.)

I looked at the photograph of the canyon
and got inspired, as per Luke’s advice.
I read about Utah and the National Park,
learnt it was named after Ebenezer Bryce.
Having gathered the relevant information
I knew that I would have to make a choice,
whether to speak of history or of geography;
yet I didn’t have a tale that I could voice.
We can appreciate the diversity of this place
from the geology and climate of the region.
It provides a suitable habitat for the wildlife
because birds and small mammals are legion.
But historical facts are similarly fascinating.
Ancient tribes lived in areas that were remote
and hoodoos were believed by Paiute Indians
to be people turned to stone by the Coyote.
The orange and white colours of the rocks
form a splendid and spectacular background;
the view of this amphitheatre is awesome,
there isn’t a better panorama to be found.

Hi Luigi,
Hi Luigi,
I found your writing here to be so informative. Would love to go there one day and see where the ancient tribes lived, and also learn more about the Paiute Indians and their beliefs.
Fascinatiing and very much enjoyed reading.
