It is a pleasure to own a work of art
whether it is the charming Mona Lisa
whose smile touches art lovers' heart
or a painting by Gentileschi of Pisa.

I would buy, if money was no object,
a Picasso work from his Blue Period.

I wouldn't consider resorting to theft
as some crooked collectors have done
leaving galleries and museums bereft
of items that were loved by everyone.

Whoever does that is a spiteful louse.
I only feel envious and simply regret
that being as poor as a church mouse

I find it difficult to understand such love for owning works of art, I like much simpler cheaper things on my walls I think! Rhiannon
