Had a phone call this morning, Meghan was with me, I put it on loud speaker, because most phone numbers, that I don’t know, they are usually from abroad, my phone provider informed me.
I expected a voice from abroad, but instead it was an English-speaking man, he almost spoke in the Queen’s English. He caught my attention, he said, “Would you be interested in joining an electrical supplier,” (naming it). I replied, I told him, “I am not interested….” Meghan said, quietly, “That is a fake A.I. man.” We continued to have a conversation, the man and myself. Meghan said again to me in a whisper, “Mum, he is not a real man, he is an A.I. robot.” I then said to the man, “I have been informed, that you are fake, an A.I.” In a second the line went dead! I was shocked! I could not believe I was having a conversation, with an A.I. robot!
Meghan then told me, “It happened to me before, I noticed there were slight pauses, as the A.I. listened to what I said,” She informed me, “If you throw in a word, that it is not expecting, this will throw the computer, like ‘fluffy pink eyeballs.” I then told Meghan something that she didn’t know, I said to her, “What these A.I.’s also do is, record a person’s voice when they call, and keep on doing so, until they have enough of the persons words, in their voice; and when they are ready, they will pretend to be that person, when they ring. Parents will then get phone calls from children in destress and needing urgent money.”
I then text friends to let them know, and later I got back replies of those who had experienced different things from these A.I. scams.
Most of the fake phone calls that they have received, they have been via texts, some friends had phone calls, asking for money from, their loved ones.
