You distanced yourself from me like an island out at sea

I tried and tried to reach you , there was nothing I could do ,

On the day that I lost you .

It was so hard to believe when you decided to leave ,

and it wasn’t me who chose, why oh why , God only knows   

the love in your heart had froze .

The day that I lost you I knew , there was no way back to you

as long as you’re happy there on a distant island where,

you’ve found someone else somewhere ;

All the goodness we once shared , the devil in you don’t care  

I have no grudges in me , I have learned to let it be

The day I lost you , I found everything had turned around .

Nothing made sense and I knew the things I needed to do   

Without you , I had to be strong , I had to carry on ,

Without you , I had to get through the day that I lost you .
