Bing! Bang! Bong! went the weasel with the gong,
As he called all the animals to tea.
Rip! Split! Burst! with desire to be first
All the ducklings had hatched early.
Muffle! Ruffle! Shuffle! strolled the hedgehog with a snuffle,
And a cold like a polar bear’s fridge.
Hop! Scuff! Jump! limped the bunny with a lump
On her foot (she’d been bitten by the midge).
Snort! Grunt! Sniff! came the badger in a tiff,
Somebody had stolen his pyjamas.
Lick! Drool! Grin! the fruity bat flew in,
They had his favourite cake, pecan and bananas.
Snarl! Squeal! Roar! swaggered the teenage boar,
Not all that tough (they’re just like that when they’re young).
Whip! Buzz! Spin! the horrid fly zipped in,
He would settle for the other beasts’ dung.
Wriggle! Paddle! Sliver! swam the salmon up the river,
In a deal for leftovers with the shrew.
Flip! Flap! Flop! fell the squirrel with a plop,
As he landed in the tiramisu.
Sprint! Leap! Dance! arrived the stag with a prance,
And his antlers held up high like a crown.
Yah! Boo! Sucks! quacked the little baby ducks,
They were first and already sitting down.
Boast! Brag! Gloat! sauntered in the stoat,
With his award winning chicken chowmein.
Huff! Groan! Growl! swooped the irritated owl,
She was last to the table again.
But oops! Blimey! Gosh! as they tucked into their nosh,
They never knew who was lying in wait.
Chomp! Munch! Snack! went the greedy wolf pack,
Who scoffed them all and licked clean every last plate.
