Ouch!

My mouth's the most dangerous
place on my face
As my tongue fusses
and pokes around
while I bite at pieces of pie

It avoids being chewed
by the skin of my teeth
Till they punish my cheek
by crunching its flesh
and all but making me cry

I wonder why we don't bite the insides of our cheeks more often - or our tongues in sleep. Oh, but doesn't it hurt when it happens! Nice poem. Bee

Hi Pia, hi Bee. I was Starvin Marvin! I was probably shoveling too much in. I went to a phase of waking up biting my tongue. Hopefully over that. But does it hurt, Bee. Thanks for your comments, both.
