'You shouldn't feel guilty; it's there

for you to enjoy'

             the cold cava prickling

             at mid-morning breakfast

we, the oh so exhausted, squinting

out at a blazing sea

             we, the oh so myopic,

             unable to pick out

the drifting wreckage, but laughing

about midnight moans

             a hand reaching

             for a hand

that drifts in the sea of shoppers

or sinks below the blue

             you shouldn't feel

             the cold

of the oh so exhausted

I guess so many on the Med will be in this conflict, a meeting of experiences, horror before our eyes and nothing we can do.  You show the dilemma with subtlety.

I like the way this creeps in like a conscience - a feeling of helplessness to know what else to do... 

Very effective, without ever saying too much, if that makes sense.
