A Burglar For Christmas

A burglar tried to break into my house last night on Christmas Eve.
I pointed my shotgun at the dirty crook and he decided to leave.
He must have heard about the expensive gifts that are under my tree.
There are over ten thousand dollars worth of presents for my family.
If that burglar had succeeded, today my family would have nothing.
I was going to shoot him if he had tried to use force, I wasn't bluffing.
But I thank the Lord that he decided to leave.
I'm glad that I didn't have to kill that man on Christmas Eve.
(This is a fictional poem.)

Thank goodness! Filled with the spirit of "We don’t dial 911". Like it. Can visualise you sitting in the dark with your shotgun on your knee. :-)
