‘I am the living bread that came down from heaven.’

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
A merry-go-round of monotony,
a chorus of cackling cacophony
– soul’s bellies a-rumbling,
and hungering, grumbling
– life colourless: strife, gloom and acrimony.
The gift that arrived that first Christmas
with promises that it could give us
what really can satisfy
– see God above ratify
– imperishable gift that’s so precious.
Amusements can give us a “sugar-rush”
– our souls need whole food that will nourish us.
We need to receive Him,
completely imbibing
His Word to escape this world’s death-curse.
Tune: sort-of 99 66 9 and I don’t know a tune, but may get my son to compose one when he has time!

If your son makes a nice tune
You'll be full of Mother's Pride.
Very interesting words I must admit.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
This really is a masterpiece of word choice. Very powerful message.

"A merry-go-round of monotony,
"A merry-go-round of monotony, a chorus of cackling cacophony". It does feel, exactly, like that sometimes hey? Everything Meaningless.
And lots of big words! As well as your son must be a regular genius.
Keep well! Tom Brown
