Penny Pimlico
Little Penny Pimlico,
In buttoned coat and hat,
Walks to school in leaps and bounds,
To avoid the pavement cracks,
Avoiding grass and cracks and holes,
She walks an extra mile,
It wears the leather on her soles,
But it makes young Penny smile.
Skinny Penny Pimlico,
Is always late for school,
Being the last one through the gates,
Is Penny's golden rule,
Her teachers are frustrated,
And she makes her mother sigh,
She walks bare foot on rainy days,
To keep her sandals dry.
Silly Penny Pimlico,
Is rather hard to please,
She only drinks from china cups,
And only eats green peas,
In bed she wears her woollen socks,
And her bonnet on her head,
To stop the dreams she dreams at night,
Escaping from her head.
