girl in crimson dress
crave her caress
girl in dress of fire
igniting desire
flickering a while
skin warming skin
passion – smouldering
music starts to play
dress begins to sway
holding tight
setting free
emotions rise
in the heat
hypnotic beat
all surrounding
bass is pounding
hips gyrating
air vibrating
dress is swirling
senses whirling
beat is slowing
body knowing
dawn is breaking
heart that’s racing
with the rhythm, ever slower now
girl in crimson – diamond droplets decorate her brow
girl in crimson dress stops swaying  –  dancing, no more,
girl who gently cradled me, now kneels upon the floor
lets me down so gently on the prayer rug where she'll lay
breath - quells the candle simpers softly as she prays
silver sounds her tambourine – tumbling at her feet
so...crown my dancing queen

What a dreamy piece, so beautifully constructed and paced. I read this at 3am as I lay awake with a cough and sore throat - perfect medicine.

Gosh, you're quick off the mark, Tina. This is gorgeous, full of spirit, full of sound. Agree with Pat, the pace change is soothing and the crescendo shape really endorses that. Can I ask how you got on with formatting - was it straight forward to cut and paste? Trying to anticipate how swiftly poems will translate from word to here. laugh

As for the King Solomon's Song of Songs,arguably one of the finest romantic/intimate poems every penned, even though it is in the bible.
