Cheese And Honey Sandwiches

Just a little bit of fun I had with the I P.

 

When pregnant be prepared to arrange

for your taste buds to slightly change,

not that I fancied catfishes or radishes

just some cheese and honey sandwiches,

 

 

I'd even have them with Sunday roast

gravy, honey soaked up with toast,

a strict vegetarian was I back then

didn't care to ever eat meat again,

 

till finally  baby came along,

the yearning I had no longer strong,

soon I was back on the meat again,

cheese honey sandwiches I disdain.

Haha - they sound repulsive Jenny! I remember eating brinjal pickle with a spoon, straight out of the jar when I was pregnant!

The only cravings I had was for 'not tea' with one pregnancy and an urge to eat to clear a metallic taste with another. But, I do like cheese and honey sandwiches, though not with gravy. But I mustn't eat too many of them! Rhiannon

Hi insert,

really glad I could make you laugh. Yes I did have a taste for the above and would eat them with every meal, now I agree with you, repulsive. These pregnancy tastes are very strange.

Hi Rhiannon,

I had such a sweet tooth when I was pregnant, I don't know how all my teeth didn't fall out. I would also go through packets of boiled fruit sweets, but even they lost their taste after giving birth...thank goodness.

I can understand you not wanting to eat too many now though.

Dear Jenny, I like children but I can't bear them, if you see what I mean. I don't know much about cravings during pregnancy, so I can see the funny side from your humorous poem and consider myself lucky for having an ordinary taste in food.

Hi Luigi,

it is funny the way woman's tastes change when they're pregnant. A friend I once knew went through liquorice like there was no tomorrow, she would miss meals just to eat it and had a constant black tongue.

Even now I look back on cheese and honey sandwiches and think how on earth did I enjoy them with gravy. Yuk!  Ha, ha. smiley

Hi Jean,

I agree cheese and honey sandwiches sounds fine, but not with gravy which I think is horrible now.

This just came into my head when I saw the IP for some reason. I'm glad you thought it rhymed okay.
