In the Summertime me and

my brother Jake can think of

nothing better than to fly

up – up and away in our red

and green striped balloon,

 

as we drift gazing down

across green pasture land

over hills an amazing sight,

white horses galloping, till

we glance the ocean blue,

 

we had flown for miles and miles

feeling like a high flyin bird, I

said: “Mr Blue Sky you really

got me,” as we landed over white

cliffs of Dover on this beautiful day.

you managed to fit so much into this short piece and yet it sounds so natural - well done! Did it take long, or did you remember all the songs easily?

I too enjoyed the natural flow of this, Jenny, giving the feel of the gentle, dreamy, restful ride and enjoyment of the views. It seemed like the kind of poem you'd enjoy writing and there was no sense of you forcing song titles in! Rhiannon

Excellent rendition, Jenny. It flows naturally as insert remarked. You seem to have omitted 'The White Cliffs of Dover from your list.

I had fun going through my cds to come up with some of the titles, others I remembered and they just seemed to fit.

You are right Luigi, I completely forgot all about White Cliffs Of Dover, funnily enough that song wasn't on my mind when I wrote the poem, but now you come to mention it I'll add to the list, not sure who it's by though, so I'll look it up.
