Joy Of Writing

When imagination hungers many a tale evolves,
expanding on some personal journey, if not lost
in the twinkling of an eye.
Occasionally ideas are rickety and fall before
they're even sown, fingers taking hold of pen
poised...lingering at the ready,
mind itching for perfection when pools of light
come into sight, a dream maybe takes hold as
scrambled thoughts try to work visions out.
Focus on my centre leave chaos behind,
forget about problems that abound leaving
me stubborn with doubt.
Maybe it's too much forcing impressions to show.
Yet! Much anticipated clouds verge horizon of rooftops,
silence broken by much needed rain making its impact known,
leaving rich petrichor redolence of grass and earth combined to
mingle with senses. I can hardly contain my joy after weeks of
mind numbing heat, as again words come in torrents on blank sheet.

yes thankyou. It was lovely coming back to the site after a bit and finding your poem on the frontpage, what a welcome for new visitors, too! I hope you are well and not living in one of those very hot places? We are lucky to have had lots of rain but even by the sea it's a bit humid so everyone is tired
