I stood in the garden
looking up at the sky
as hundreds of starlings
they went flying by,
a kaleidoscope of shapes
enveloping the air
I thought it was amazing
till they pooped in my hair,
so when it's said and done
if you'll pardon the pun
I stand here and sigh
thank god it wasn't my eye.

Good morning Jenny Nice
Good morning Jenny
Nice little ditty to start my day. Not that you being pooped on brightens me up. Although I know you seen the funny side too.
It terms of form the rhythm lost it slightly and the last stanza hasa different rhyming scheme from the previous two. I'm sure you could tighten them up if you wanted too, but I hope you don't mind if I offer a couple of suggestions which keep to the rhythm and rhyme of the first stanza, as I've enjoyed the images so much.

kaleidoscope of shapes
enveloping the air

they pooped in my hair,
but when all's said and done
as I stand here and sigh
I thank our god above
it wasn't my eye.
Really hope you don't mind

Neat and funny, Jenny. I
Neat and funny, Jenny. I once got shat on by a seagull. I was absolutely covered in stinky stuff. It was like someone emptying a bucket over me. Talk about 'bombs away', I would never have believed there was so much crap in those things. I think watching Starlings is amazing. You can see a fantastic display on the Somerset levels.
Thanks for giving me a good laugh.

This is great, Jenny. And I have had a 'near miss' situation, many times. I too loved your 'kaleidoscope of shapes.' Well done;-)
