I have the belly of a woman

Whose babes are grown

Or who returned

To the land of new potentials.

I have the back of a woman

who has carried and toiled

to raise and nurture

all in her domain.

I have the hair of a woman

Whose youth has flown

Spun silver, fine as silk

Crowns a head of learned wisdom

I have the face of a woman

Who has laughed and cried

in equal measure

herstory written into each line.

These features a celebration

Of striving, life lived

loves lost, and found,
