Dandelion Seeds

Dandelion seeds are super;

proper little paratroopers;

look just like those very brave men,

storming Summer lawns and pavements.

Or, as they fall to the ground,

like ballerinas all around;

pirouetting; piqué spinning,

seeking out a new beginning.

Scattered by warm Summer breezes;

even by hay fever sneezes

or girls and boys in dungarees as

they blow on them for fun.

Whither ever they may blow,

those feathered seeds as white as snow,

from some small crack a weed will grow

that glows bright as the sun.
