Red dress, Red hat, Red shoes, Red eyes
Red hair that came as no surprise
Red knees that seemed almost aglow;
A sign of prayer? Or just a blow?
Red fish-net tights that hypnotized
And made you drool with stifling cries
They drew you in; you longed to go
To plough a furrow, seeds to sow
Too late you come to realize
This holy shrine’s not paradise
But just the trap of a deadly foe
A spiders’ web that will bestow
The same slow death as other flies;
That sucks life’s juice; husks and dries
Then sets aside as ‘quid pro quo’
Till wagging tongues agree to show
Reciprocation to homologous guise
That brings a glaze to those red eyes
