Just passing through

See my soul,
exposed and helpless,
gossamer frosted-sugar shell.
Shatters at each careless jolt,
melts at every touch.
Catch my eyes,
unprotected and naïve,
betrayers of my soul.
Innocents in a world of pain,
an unattended store.
Share my dreams,
elusive, indistinct,
they hide in cold wind tears.
Always just a step away,
never within reach.
Know my voice,
it speaks with passion
words that can’t be heard.
A silent exhortation
to a dark and empty hall.
Touch my flesh,
scarred, corrupt,
enclose me in your warmth.
Sit me at your fire-side,
until the embers die.
See my whole,
it hangs together,
flesh and soul and dreams.
Its purpose long forgotten,
just passing through, it seems.

"See my whole,

so many beautiful lines in this. And on a silly note, I like how the title fits your user name :)
