Oh hairy bear
Oh scary bear
I’m over here
You’re over there
I see you look
I feel your stare
I run
You chase
A crazy pair
Through the tangled wood
We tear
The curve
I swerve
You follow me
You plunge
You lunge
To collar me
I see my chance
The hollow tree
I’m in
I’m up
It’s victory
None to you
And one to me
Not so scary
Hairy bear
Growl
And prowl
I just don’t care
You’d eat me up
I’m well aware,
But I’m up here
And you’re down there.

I agree with the Blighter, it would make a brilliant picture book and has a great metre for reading aloud. Bound to become a Storybook Corner favourite!
