Well here you are, waiting for me to 'accept'
I imagine a montage of your beautiful life
Your beautiful house and your beautiful wife
air-brushed, edited, in high defintion
and 500 friends vying for your attention

And no doubt by now, two beautiful brats
in Gapkids, smiling
for the holiday snaps

you'll have scuba'd the Maldives
swum with dolphins at sea
back-packed to Machu Picchu
skied in Chamonix

and photographed well at charity events
which She'd call fundraisers
like an Am-er-i-can

You'll be living the dream
we once planned together
I always wanted to travel
remember?
We chose a house from Country life magazine
A cottage in the Cotswolds, though we'd never been
anywhere near the home counties or Stow-on-the-wold
but you painted a picture: a honey-gold future
a duck in a puddle, a baby to cuddle, and us two together
growing old

I can choose to ignore you, then I'll never know
if you love her still, or if you're alone
checking your E-mail, to see what I've done
If I'm married or single
or somewhere between
lovers or partners or if I've been
waiting for you to come to your senses
tell me you love me and beg for forgivness

We're friends now, it seems
and here's where we're at
I Like your bedsit

You want us to meet
for old times sake
