They walked Through a Storm

They fought with great dignity against dirty tricks
The grieving families and fans of the lost 96
Reviled by some media, right from the start
They bravely walked on with hope in their hearts
The Hillsborough tragedy was blamed on the dead
Corrupted false evidence to the public was fed
The people of Liverpool never swallowed the lies
And walked through a storm with their heads held high
For twenty three years they fought for justice and truth
They never gave up the fight that began in their youth
Through the wind and the rain they have finally shown
No matter how much your dreams are tossed and blown
Justice will come for the lost, light will conquer the dark
They can rest and sing the sweet silver song of the lark
The nation must bow, great respect must be shown
To those brave bereaved people who will never walk alone
