Nigel the Knight
By shades
- 643 reads
When playing games and contact sports,
Nigel dressed in shirt and shorts,
And forfeited traditional dress,
For something weighing slightly less.
It’s not easy for a modern Knight,
Whose armour’s heavy, hot and tight,
To chase at pace and kick a ball,
In fact it’s hard to move at all.
Other knights from far and wide,
Could never keep with Nigel’s’ stride
Each game of football Nigel scored
A local star that all adored.
Fair maidens travelled overseas
To get a glimpse of Nigel’s knees.
They’d pay a price to have the thrills
Of watching Nigel’s dribbling skills.
The lesson here to gain success,
Is dump your armour, dress in less,
Try floral prints on coloured T’s.
And shorts that come below the knees.
