A Sole Sun from Dawn to Dusk
The sun rose,
Near a central cloud,
Scattering its rays
Across the peacock feathers
Brushing the sky.
The sun set,
Under mythological Greek characters,
Amidst ancient tales of old,
Retold by the clouds,
In dusk’s colour’s glows.
In between the rise and set
The crystal sea
Captured the clouds
As the mirror
Holding eternity;
And the characters’ horse’s heads
Galloped out of the ocean
Before diving back in
With their mane’s spray
Before the shore.
Watching this glory?
Only me.
Seeing this magical scenery?
Only me.
For there was no-one standing next to me.
I sigh in learned trust and faith,
At the feet of ancient tales,
And think: “What a waste.
Why didn’t God want to share this magic?
Stored and recalled
In two minds
And not just one?”

Ah, but you are trying to
Ah, but you are trying to capture something of what you saw and share here. Other people probably saw some of the same scenes, though maybe noticed different things. Poetry encourages others to observe and think about what they see more, I guess. Rhiannon

I like the mythological feel
I like the mythological feel to your poem, there is something about seascapes that prompts this. I have a lovely image in my mind now.
