A Refined Lady

Remember Hyacinth
the refined lady
who used to entertain
on a lavish scale
and to the occasion
she always rose?
Regarded by many
to be toffee- nosed
she wasn’t a snob
but was very sociable
and those who knew her
liked her a lot.
No shrinking violet,
was congenial and warm
with a welcoming smile.
Her plea to her friends
was: “When I am gone,
forget me not.”
Yet despite her openness
she valued her privacy
and would swiftly reply
to an impertinent question
with a curt riposte:
“Mind your own business!”

Hi Luigi,
Hi Luigi,
what a clever poem on the I P. It had everything that was required and more.
Really enjoyed and put a smile on my face.
Jenny. xx

Oh! thank you, I'm really not
Oh! thank you, I'm really not a gardener worth my salt, and I felt I was missing number 5, so I've now googled it, and learnt something! Rhiannon
