It arrived in the post this morning.
I knew the letter was anonymous
although I hadn’t had any warning.
The words within were venomous,
the invectives it expressed vitriolic.
I could not think of anyone so sad
who would sent a missive so diabolic:
they were either dysfunctional or mad.
He or she wasn’t so much as talking
as ranting with a badly written page.
It amounted literally to a stalking,
with a poison pen spewing its rage.
The accusations in it made no sense,
I had never seen the girl in question
and I hadn’t committed any offence
but that was the writer’s suggestion.
That I should have seduced this maid
in the back seat of my car in a lay-by
is a ludicrous statement, I am afraid:
I don’t drive or have a car - so it’s a lie.

Givng vent to hatred and
Givng vent to hatred and malice doesn't bring relief, and so often shoots out its arrows at the wrong person. I suppose it's even easier to tweet or email such with haste and little thought, but, of course, not so easy to remain anonymous. Rhiannon

I think your correspondent
I think your correspondent must have got the alleged details from that firm that keeps phoning me because they 'understand' I have had a recent car accident. As I haven't had a car for seventeen years, it's a bit of a puzzle. They obviously branch into blackmail when all else fails!
