Schools Out

In city parks,
Tranquility breached
Only by Resonance
Of metropolis life,
Students once
Besieged,
Minds gripped –
determined,
Fresh faces
Gathering,
Emblazoned
Expressions,
Filter out
Revision,
Left for
Another time,
Treasured days
Monopolize
Smiles...adrift
On adolescence,
Midst
Summer flora
Drowsy passions
Interweave,
Soothing breezes
Exhale sobriety
To whirlwind minds
Now school's out.

Hi, Jenny, though I don't go
Hi, Jenny, though I don't go with the concept of 'Karma', I liked the feel in your poem of a lovely weather half term, and the quietness of the park for those relaxing from exams and revision (as were two of my granchildren and a youngster in our church here) with the flowers, the distance from the noise, and the soft breeze. Last week seemed to be good weather for them to have a proper break and refresh. Rhiannon

On adolescence,

doesn't seem that long ago,
doesn't seem that long ago, how the summer holidays lasted forever, then didn't.
