Colours for Kids 5)

Pink pom-poms of thrift by the sea,
pretty pink blossom of a cherry tree
drifting down like pink-petal snow;
Peppa Pig, and real pigs ,and
the long-legged, feathers-flushed-pink
flamingo,
sticky candy floss, so very sweet to lick;
and the colour of the medicine
you sometimes have to take
when you’re feeling
very sick.

All little girls would love
All little girls would love this poem Rhiannon. How I adore the pink blossom that attracts bees and how it drifts down like pink-petal snow.
Beautifully written.
Jenny.

This is so lovely, I can't
This is so lovely, I can't help be attracted to the colour pink, I think it goes back to us foraging for berries to survive. Such nice pink things you've chosen for your poem, blossoms and pom poms, it makes me think of those pink pom pom Dahlias. It's perfect for kids.

I thought pink would be
I thought pink would be impossible apart from flowers, but you have done it, brilliantly! I had not thought of flamingos or candyfloss. The way you've ended, i can imagine it read slower and slower and a face being pulled for the last word
