wind plays liquid dominoe runs

with grass, seeds soft amethyst

sea. Below azure smooth, boats

small as white moths

rising from our feet

 

as we wade through Life

leaving no footprints

under sky's bright spread

 

"There's a cricket!"

reminds me of childhood excitement

see it just in time

 

"What are those birds?"

Swallows. We  marvel

as they catch midges quick as seconds

 

and talk of loved ones passed

believing, here, that they are free

 

then head back to the line of trees

and shade again

I was trying to see if I could capture the waving of the barley fields on camera up the road last night. I presume you are above and close to the sea, where you are in this? Lovely to stop and see the insects and the swallows darting around. Rhiannon

Thankyou so much for commenting Rhiannon :0) Did you manage to get a good photo? PLEASE  write about the wind in the barley!!! It's one of the reasons I love Van Gogh paintiongs so much and I would really like to read a poem by you about it

but I was pleased with somehow catching something of the swaying in a 2D photograph yesterday (and the barley taller now to sway more too!), so may give it more thought. Rhiannon

My son took me on this walk, he came here after his cat passed, and had a wonderful feeling that he was ok now, and had become part of the island

that's Tina, she is fine! Butey was born in our falling down shed. My son had been begging us for a cat, and I said if we were meant to have one, a cat would come. One day as we were coming home my son ran off up the hill saying I had to find him. When I got home I found him in the yard, and he said he could hear a mewing noise. I lookled in the shed and just inside by the door was a tiny kitten, eyes only just open. I could not see the nest where he fell from. I wasn't sure if we should take him. I put my hands down infront of him and he walked into my hands! He was very cold and I didn't know when his Mum would come back. So we took him in. He was very close to my son who is an only child and always felt Butey was his brother. He was a GORGEOUS  cat. There are no words for him, though he looked like pedigree Turkish Van his family were feral, the mother took the other kittens back to the carpark after a few days. We miss him so much, Tina does too. She is acting very responsible and grown up as she is cat of the house now, and has not downloaded the calculator a hundred times for weeks

His Mum had great dignity and was very pretty herself, a tortoiseshell. I think they were the Royal Family of cats on the island and we were very priveleged to share his life :0)
