hated hasty acts:
regrets, remorse.

Talk of the black dog, terrible, horrible from hell itself. Hope you never get it.

But this is speaking of God hunting one who's rebelling from Him, to give him love. Not the 'black dog' of depression. So that's why I put the footnote that it's the picture of  a 'serach and rescue dog', like they use I think in the Alps. The old poem I refer to used that picture of God's searching for the author when he didn't realise the love that was seeking to bring him back to Himself.
