Five days before he was crucified

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
The King, a kind and gentle King,
rides in upon an ass
– a borrowed ass – he nothing owned:
The prophecy had come to pass.
Though usually he walked, not now,
and hear the crowd acclaim him,
acknowledging his goodness, praise
– he who soon would be reigning.
But foolish leaders closed their eyes
to that which showed that he
was true Messiah sent from heaven,
wise, kind, Saviour to be.
And so they wanted to be rid
of him, for their hypocrisy,
and pride, was shown exposed by his
true goodness, quiet authority.
Tune: basically CM, with some hanging syllables at the end of lines
Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-10; Luke 19:29-40; John 12:12-19 Zechariah (Prophecy – Old Testament) 9:9

A holy time of the year
A holy time of the year, and sombre, time for reflection and gratitude and compassion. I have the Mel Gibson film "Passion of the Christ" here on Dvd I haven't seen it yet will watch it within a day or two. I hear it is really very heavy but they say it is very good.
Excellent poem Rhiannon & Nolan

the passion
I did watch the movie on the Crucifiction, it is brilliant as you say, but I must say, didn't enjoy it. At all. Just the ending was happy I'd say. The beginning then?
Just something I thought of, wonder what would happen if you arrived at one of these big riches churches on a donkey on good Friday? Your guess is as good as mine. Imagine the embarrasentment.
