I should be asleep
But I’m running on
Overdrive, the dark
Not its usual comforter
My brain a million miles
From my pillows thinking
How I never said goodbye
To anyone before I left
I just disappeared from
Their canvas, painted over
Put away in a drawer
Those few, those mighty
Few I called my friends
Who put up with my failing
And my flailing all of whom
I could say filled the voids
Sealed the breaks laughed with
Me, at me, about me, cried, lied,
Died, I never gave a reason
Never said I’m going just
Became a breeze on the water’s
Edge. Babbling at 12:15 about my
Wanderlust, and lack of faith
They understood, and I let
Them go.
