Look him in the eye,
Underneath you are growing thick horns,
Move your spine towards his brick fist,
Bum now twisting on a medical trolley,
Every nerve of yours is stretched like putty,
Rinse your senses and flinch for the needle.
Pinch in the lower back,
Upside down emotions, demanding immediate pain relief,
Now the needle is dipping in like an agony train,
Claw at the doctor, he spits out, “keep still because if this breaks……..”,
Too late to slip away,
Umbrella situation in a tiny cubicle,
Resting after the plunge,
Easy, the needle has left you, speechless.
