The eyes have it ..

I should have. Taken it off ..
I had come home late from work, jumped into the bath, then bed. I just love my bed. I keep it clean and cosy, but that night l had left a whole bunch of black goo on my eye balls. Dusty Springboxish. I knew it would be all over my pillow slips too, but it's such an ordeal, wiping the waterproof mascara off. Takes forever. Hideously time consuming, bore of a job especially if it's been a late one at work. Is that all l have to worry about, eh?!
We are lucky, us females. Little pots of this, fancy tubes of that. Blokes just have to work with what they're given. They can't transform their face a la lipstick, powder and paint, as thingmybob sang a while back.
Usually there's a couple of baggy peepers looking back at me. l am grateful to Ms Chanel and all the rest of them as l closely examine my chin and upper lip for that stray, wiry hair. Middle age. Nasty business. Do other folk notice that? On other women. How some of them don't see those almost beards, l'll never understand. Especially where there's artificial light. Can't take my eyes off a hairy pensioner, me.
Anyway, as l said. I'd slept in my old mascara, so expected my face to be aw screwed up and nasty looking in the morning. But l got a shock. The dusky eyes looked quite passable. There's something to be said for leaving your make up on overnight. Maybe there's a master craftsman that can permanently dollop it on. Forevermore. Wake up with long eyelashes and none of the droopy lids? Nah. I like the before and after look ..
I removed the old stuff then put on the new. I get loads of samples at work, and honestly, the more expensive mascara is definately worth it, in terms of lasting thickness etc. I wouldn't be able to afford it though. Twenty-five quid per wand. Blimy.
What's all this painted-on eyebrow fashion at the moment? All the young girls look as if you've 'surprise surprise'ed them these days!
My pillows got a double boil wash. I've finally learned my lesson. Remove before bed. Just like your clothes ..
