July

Relaxing warmth and summer glow,
we’ve watched the fields and hedgerows grow,
and now it all has reached a peak
– contentedly replete and sleek.
And yet in places all’s a tangle,
as weeds compete the paths to strangle
– deceptive nettles soft, and bramble
snakes out, scratching as we ramble.
Ripening corn in days of heat,
foxgloves rise, and meadowsweet
– creamy froth, and nuts pale green
bunched on hazel trees are seen.

Hello Rhiannon,
Hello Rhiannon,
hope you're having a relaxing Saturday. This poem oozes lazy hazy days of Summer.
Love your natural flow of words and the ideal conditions for creatures to enjoy nature.
A very inspiring piece, which leaves me drowsy to just be at one with nature too.
Jenny.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
You certainly set the mood for the warm days of July that we've delighted in. But now back to grey and rain for awhile. I have a foxglove coming up in a crack in the pavement in my front yard, which I am hoping will thrive and procreate. I feel the nice weeds that find a place to grow deserve to be encouraged.
