Mention Of Your Name

Mum! At
forefront
of my mind,
fighting
for light,
a blazon of
memories
emanate,
combing
strands of
recollections,
plaiting each
thread of thought,
a keepsake at
cornerstone to
reminisce upon.
Like a
baby bird
trying
to fly,
you
fell from
nest
too soon,
I often wonder!
Do you
dance with
the breeze?
When I
blink, is
it your
light flashing
before my eyes?
Though
swimming
against
tides of
madness,
you found
release
eventually.
Now as
Mother's
Day
arrives,
I'll only
think of
you with
gladness,
echo
how
you
gave
me
time
to
flourish,
your
ability to
fuel my
imagination,
with a
mixed
bag of
possibilities.

well, memory brings joy and pain, hopefully to see our mum again. (Is it mother's day?)

There is so much unnoticed
There is so much unnoticed about the work of motherhood, the quiet dedication and perseverance necessary, the picking up of trying to help again when you feel you've failed, the saying 'sorry' too, and good to remember some of what has been given over many years. Rhiannon

'when I blink, is it your light..' I love that bit Jenny and the 'baby bird'. A heartfelt poem that gives us a lot about your mother and your lasting closeness to her.

The intricate, delicate
The intricate, delicate relationship of child to mother, and the memories that flood us and are crystallize when they are gone. Your words evoke the love and the struggles of the Mother and Child connection and the deep unhealed pain when lost. It truly touched my heart.
