Midst sweet perfume
           of youthful bloom,
                    the lonely spirit wars,
often cries,
          and sometimes dies
                    in quest of her amour.

You can write short as well as long, Terry!
A sweet understanding of a female viewpoint, though, she'd best get busy with helping others and trusting, to take her mind a bit off longings and searchings! Rhiannon

I enjoyed the simplicity of this. If it was mine, I'd think about removing the 'and' starting line 4. I like brief poems. Liked this one.
