The Curse of the Unread Story

Last week I wrote a story
I though it of my best,
I published it on "ABC…"
Its calibre to test.
So very few have read it
Of comments there's but one,
Alas it earned no 'cherry'
What more could I have done?
I have scant comprehension
Of what's considered good,
If they made a wand for writers
I'd buy one if I could.
To write can be quite trying
Oft there's no reward,
I feel like a striker
Who's very seldom scored.
I think a change of tactic
Is what my ego needs,
I'll just enjoy the writing
Not worry 'bout the reads.
I will not write for plaudits
For 'cherries' or for praise,
I will not write for money
For no one ever pays.
I'll write just for the pleasure
Of prose and poems done,
Won't fret about an audience
I'm writing just for FUN!!
