Amazing Archer!

Hawkeye of the world of fishes,
powerful arrow rarely misses:
looking out from under water
somehow knows just where it oughter
aim its powerful water jet
its food to hit, dislodge to get
(despite the water-air refraction
of light – it makes the compensation
for that and arrow’s down-curved path
caused by gravity of earth),
tongue pressed hard against the groove
filled with water in the roof
of its mouth, it pulls its gills in,
shoots the water – powerful spitting!
then, with super-fast reactions
and trigonometric calculations
arrives a fraction after impact
of the dropping little insect:
little fish could not compete
if all these skills were not complete –
not brought about by stray mutations,
but well-designed – congratulations!

Another vote for creation,
Another vote for creation, Rhiannon. Fab poem - very cleverly put together.
Enjoyed.

I agree, wholeheartedly,
I agree, wholeheartedly, Rhiannonow! The complexity of design is the greatest proof of a creator.

Rhiannon,
Rhiannon,
As you know I'm not particularly religious but one can't deny the glory of creation. A well written, clever poem that is your creation using the tools your creator gave to you.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I liked this poem too - the quick tense use of words almost described the action of fishing.
