We stood beside the harbour
The light was low and phosphorescent
Across the reach of sea and sky something happened
Unnatural and alien
Crashing through the scene like butcher’s knife through masterpiece
Slashed from top to bottom
Too quick for human eyes
But in its wake, red lights danced like fireflies in the night
Springing from a distant source
A cratered ocean far beyond the joining of horizons
We watched
A shape, white and indistinct began to form
Flattened to the curvature by friendly gravitation
It grew, billowing
Until it was upon us
Steaming ocean, pressing in
We fell into an empty shed
And there we slept.

extraodinary event
It sounds as if you witnessed some extraodinary natural phenominon. Great poem but the last two lines seem out of place. Or is it resignation? Do you simply describe the inevitable? Quite clever I'd say.
Enjoyed it. Tom

Love this Parson, its
Love this Parson, its strength is in your reader not knowing and that ambivalence lends such possibility. That it is sea bound gave me a shiver, too many unknowns out there. The statemented style brings impact and your visuals are sharp. It doesn't feel it needs full stops every line. You can be stubborn about this, it is after all your piece but if you take some out, your tension soup gets thicker.

A tsunami of mystery. I like
A tsunami of mystery. I like that it ends in peace, the shed is most mysterious.

I am now. I'd forgotten it was a bank holiday. Should have known when I saw it raining!
Have a good one!
