It must be unspeakably
It must be unspeakably difficult. I think of you and Bee so often. The lioness metaphor is gorgeous, a stark contrast with the stilted climate of neglect in the final stanza. The voice of care and caution lives on.

you wouldn't believe the
you wouldn't believe the number of times I look at something on here from the past - a poem or a story - to find one of bee's generous, encouraging comments - she was everywhere! And so I suppose this is a good place to post your poem because we all know how lovely she was and we all miss her too
This lovely poem - read it back to yourself - shows how she lives on inside of you. Thankyou for sharing the beautiful images (like Vera I loved the lion metaphor). The realisation that we're not invincible will strike a chord with many I imagine. I do think you should paint your nails though - am sure bee would want you to.

In a world where apathetic
In a world where apathetic pride reigns king. What an interesting statement.
I think that Bee, though encouraging you to peace and self-worth, probably also taught her cubs much of her own/ their own/ everyone's failings, and the life ahead that wouldn't always be an idyllic and secluded picnic, and oasis on the warm savannah. Be glad of all the protection and strengthening that you received, and seek to help your own, and pray. Rhiannon

Hello AE,
Hello AE,
Judging by this poem, dear Bee, is invincible. She lives on in you as her influence and talent have been passed down. She will always be remembered by everyone on ABC for her unstinting encouragement and generous comments. For sure I miss her and her work.
Keep writing and sharing your thoughts with us.
I often think of her and the last thing she said to me.

Hello AE,
Hello AE,
I put up a reply yesterday and then promptly lost it. Yes, of course, I will tell you. I had sent her an email in which I wrote that I was not a religious person but that I was praying for a miracle. She replied by saying that sometimes it's friends and the people you have around you who are your miracles, She then said I was her miracle because I made her laugh through the shitty bits.
I certainly did try to make her laugh. That's why I told her, when I had cancer, it was my husband and daughter that made me laugh. I had bowel cancer and, unfortunately, flatulence was a problem. On one occasion I had a particularly loud and long incident. Then, without any pre-arranged signal my husband and daughter started tap dancing down the ward in an effort to cover the noise. Needless to say, they were unsuccessful, but as you can imagine the Ward was in uproar.
I will never forget those words she wrote as even towards the end she was still so magnanimous, caring and thoughtful. I think of her often, she was such a shining example to the rest of us. May she rest in peace.

Lovely, extremely sad poem.
Lovely, extremely sad poem. But you are not 'without her' as your writing shows. So much of her love and words are there.

Hi AE. 10 days ago was the anniversary of the death of my Dad. I wrote a poem about him back in 2012. I hadn't thought about that poem in years. Amazingly ( weird) I got a notification that someone had left a comment about it so I clicked on to read it. Even more amazing was that the comment was left on the 14th, but I didn't receive the notification until the 15th ( the anniversary of his death). As I read through the comments I re-read what Bee had put. Have a look...
