Wonder

Skin, hot, sticks to me.
I wonder what you wonder.
Light crawling from behind
the drawn curtains.
Slats on the poorly assembled
bed creak beneath
the weight of half baked
worries etching blotches
that could be pictures.
Long, dark hairs cling
to the side of your face.
Lines like ink.
Drawing out each
breath that holds
a dying dream.
Light beats red
through closed eyelids,
as I hold your hand
and wonder what you wonder.

I thought that second stanza was wonderful, and the last one is a perfect ending, with an image you feel you can reach out and touch. Lovely and mysterious.
