Written In The Stars

I remember one hot summer
in distant past...making believe
while lying on dry matted grass,
beneath a sky that was so vast,
feeling that my soul was part of
a never ending length of thread,
so fine it floated like one strand
from a feather in heaven above,
it was a mysteriously clear night
that clings to memory like glue,
awe-inspiring and enduring as I
thought of many planets in view,
stars were mingling in space,
appearing neglected as they
gazed upon honeyed sounds
of silence in huge expanse,
for even quietness has an echo
of shadows exploring darkness,
scouring many dust particles and
meteorites that have lost their way.
Appreciate for just one moment
vast mind bending cosmos...holes
of distortion yawning across time,
seizing all opportunities in their path,
without remorse no hands or minds
deciding what gets vacuumed up,
only destiny has that much power
in its force...for fate is the real ruler.

I guess stars are too big and
I guess stars are too big and too far away to contemplate. That's our fate. As you show here, We move in circles.

My partner is so interested in space and other planets but I find it frightening looking up at the stars. However this poem helps me understand. Also I love the idea that "quietness has an echo". The sense of peace and space and power here is so beautiful!

You convey well the delight
You convey well the delight and wonder of staring at the vastness and depth of the sky and imagining about the powerful great stars and spheres, Jenny. But to add that the 'fate' that brought it all about and rules now, will bring transformation and is kindly too and a Person! Rhiannon

Your work is always
Your work is always beautiful Jenny but I don't like the final stanza and I don't believe it's true. To me fate and destiny has always been different things, almost opposites in a way.
Yes it does sound very romantic, lying underneath the starry night sky maybe with the one you love, and you may be even young! Under clear sky looking up at the great grand glittering spectacle! And all those little lights like some vast christmas tree!
Started raining now sounds like we're in for it!
Keep well! Tom
