The Opposite of Love

We forget the dwarf planets -
they are circling
from enough distance
to turn to indifference.
This is the last resting place
of our lost words,
scattered as discs of rock and ice;
products of collision after
collision. They are unimportant,
being barely visible, but
to the dead eyes of Eris
and Dysnomia, in the frozen
sharpness, and later, with a shrug
of detachment; child of contempt -
we are unfound here,
where the opposite of love
is to be forgotten.

Sometimes we all feel like
Sometimes we all feel like those dwarf planets, which is quite sad to think about.
A poem that makes you think of the other side of love.

I have no idea how you keep coming up with these marvellous pieces, each one enriching and heartbreaking. Wonderful image of the dwarf planets. A beautiful thing.

Sad, quiet and beautiful. The
Sad, quiet and beautiful. The opposite of love. Very interesting poem. Today my daughter was walking along the street, a man carrying a large, expensive bunch of roses (for his other half presumably) ogled her and winked at her. Love is a miserable lie.

catching up - I can offer you
catching up - I can offer you a comic moment, after Jane's poor daughter's grim one - a man, coat over what were clearly pyjamas, obviously just jumped out of bed and realised he'd forgotten valentine's day, had tied his overexicted dog to a newspaper stand while he ran into the shop to buy flowers - except the dog was running up the street, still tied to the newspaper stand, with the man (in pyjamas) hotly in pursuit. Happened years ago but the memory still makes me laugh.
but anyway - the opposite of love is, yes, sad and far away, and you express is beautifully here, thank you onemore
