Ballad of Misery and Hope

The human race with its gullible face
Has finally opened its eyes
We believed what politicians told us all
Despite the suspicion of lies
The human race with its puzzled face
No longer knows who to trust
We all dreamed of a shiny bright future
But all we got was vapour and rust
The human race with its too late face
Is wondering who to blame
For the destruction of this earth
Even though we all played the game
The human race with its angry face
Are hanging from a rope
Mistakes were made the rich got paid
And the world burnt all its hope

yes. Blockbuster films are so
yes. Blockbuster films are so interesting, there has to be a villain, and the goodies have to DO SOMETHING BRAVE to stop the world being destroyed. But in reality it is us wanting more than we need, a trait which has always been encouraged, that is the problem - We just need to STOP DOING STUFF, but no one can make that out to be heroic. Economic growth, the thing Prime Ministers claim will fix everything, is what will finish us all off.
Your poem says this in a much easier to get way!
