Spotless in Tennessee

A baby giraffe was born with no spots at Brights Zoo in Tennessee on 31 July. The spotless giraffe is incredibly rare.

A clever and bold opening

Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2020

A clever and bold opening line to a poem which weaves beautiful imagery into lyrical verse. The analogy, unless I am much mistaken, may have been inspired by Hans Holbein's painting “A Lady with a Squirrel and a Starling” which some people now...

Posted on Wed, 25 Mar 2020

Your kind appraisal is heart warming, Rachel, and a boost to my morale.
I started experimenting with flash fiction on a website called Droubbles.com which might be defunct now.

Although they can be technically correct by following the rules, the poetic element doesn't always match the effort.
Dylan Thomas' "Do not...

Drew, for information.

Drew, for information.

The pantoum is a form of poetry similar to a villanelle in that there are repeating lines throughout the poem. It is composed of a series of quatrains; the second and fourth lines of each stanza are repeated as the...

An interesting and absorbing little crime thriller in verse, Niamh. I found myself following the clues wanting to know what was stolen. I enjoyed the unusual format.
